Esperance Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a new initiative for its members – Locals Employing Locals.
Business owners expressed there were challenges with finding staff to fill local positions, with some employment sites attracting applications from far and wide with applicants having little understanding of where Esperance is or an ability to move here. Locals Employing Locals is a local employment site that will be hosted on the Esperance Chamber of Commerce (ECCI) website and will link local businesses with local job hunters or people who are looking at becoming an Esperance local. This page will be an extra avenue for businesses to promote current vacancy positions.
Shaun Meares, President ECCI Board “As local business owners we need people who are keen to live and work in Esperance. This includes locals – even those who may not be locals just yet. Attracting applicants who know about Esperance and want to move here and keeping those who have made Esperance their home is a key retention strategy for our businesses.”
Bronwyn McLeod, Executive Officer ECCI “We want to provide a site that allows members to promote roles that are aimed more at our local job market needs. The website will advertise the positions available and the Chamber will promote these through our social media and community-based sites. Additionally, we will promote Locals Employing Locals in our newsletters and through our regular radio updates.”
The service will be free to use for our members and all applications will go directly to the website. All members need to do is fill out an online form with information about the position and select the submission button.
