On Thursday the 18 November the Chamber hosted its final ‘Shaping Our Future’ Business & Industry Forum for 2021. Though there was no theme for this forum our three guest speakers gave some valuable information to everyone who attended. Dee Roche, MBA Teaching Fellow and CA coordinator and Lecturer at the UWA Business School gave a two part presentation on ‘Design Thinking’ Dee shared with us ways to solve challenges in business quickly, efficiently and innovatively.
Our second speaker was Lauren Douglass from Tourism Direction who is also an Esperance local. Lauren showed us Destination Management is about more than just tourism, it’s about bringing together community and industry partners with government bodies and working together to achieve a thriving, sustainable and vibrant community. All provided our audience with some great information.
Lastly it was great to have Tony Pickworth, RAC Group Executive of Tourism give us an update on how the RAC Esperance Caravan Park is progressing. It was interesting to see before and after photos. The park will officially open on Friday 17 December.
A special thank you goes to Regional Development Australia Goldfields-Esperance and Horizon Power our sponsors for the event. Without their continued support the Chamber would not be able to host events such as ‘Shaping Our Future’ Business & Industry. Thanks must also go to Tim at the Civic Centre and Hospitality Inn for catering for both the afternoon tea and sundowner. A very big thanks go to all who attended.
